 Документы бухгалтерского учета, в которых фиксируются все хозяйственные операции, происходящие в организации (предприятии), учитываются все ее хозяйственные средства и все источники этих средств. Поскольку все хозяйственные операции имеют двустороннюю форму (если один объект учета получает некую сумму денег, то обязательно есть другой объект, который эту сумму ему отдает), то счета бухгалтерского учета имеют двустороннюю форму. Левая сторона счета называется «д?бет», правая – «кр?дит». Итоги записей хозяйственных операций по счетам называются оборотами по счетам. Счета делятся на синтетические (обобщающие) и аналитические, предназначенные для конкретизации первых. Например, к синтетическому счету «Материалы» ведутся аналитические по видам материалов, а к счету «Расчеты с персоналом по оплате труда» — лицевые счета по каждому работнику. Существуют также забалансовые счета (они информируют о наличии и движении ценностей, временно находящихся в распоряжении предприятия, например, арендованных), пассивные счета (учитывающие источники собственных и заемных средств) и некоторые другие. Перечень счетов бухгалтерии называется планом счетов. Унифицированный план счетов для всех организаций страны утверждается Министерством финансов.
